Coming up this Friday: The Train, Janapriyan


This week's new Malayalam release, The Train, directed by the National award winning director, Jayaraj, is based on the Mumbai train bombings. Mammootty plays the lead.
Jayasurya, who is a part of the film, has another release this Friday: Janapriyan, directed by Boban Samuel.
Here is a look at both the films.
Mammootty and Jayasurya are coming together in Jayaraj's The Train, which will hit theatres this weekend. It's a thriller based on the Mumbai chain bomb blasts that rocked the city on July 11, 2006.
Mammootty plays Kedarnath, a Commander of the Anti Terrorist Squad. Aanchal Sabharwal, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sheena, Abhimanyu, Sabitha Jayaraj, Anupam Kher, Balaji and Padmakumar form the rest of the cast.
The camera is being handled by debutant cinematographer Seenu Murukkumpuzha. Vivek Harshan is the editor. Lyrics by Rafeeq Ahmed and Jayaraj have been composed by Sreenivas. Jayesh Kuttamath is producing the film under the banner Harvest Dreams Pvt. Ltd.
